Hi all and I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend.

The weather here in Tasmania was fantastic; by that I mean not too hot and not too cold. We had a family get together and barbecue yesterday afternoon and we  managed to get in 8 games of volleyball which was so much fun and more laughter than anything else. I injured myself warming up and played all 8 games with a very sore swollen hand where I bent the fingers back diving for a ball and striking it on the tip of my fingers rather than my whole hand so that made my game rather intersting, luckily we weren’t playing for sheep stations and more like fun and giggles. We won 4 and lost 4.

In recent weeks I have decided to start a couple of things I have been thinking about for a while. One is I really I have a strong passionate desire to recreate and give new life to old wedding dresses.

I love the old fashioned or vintage style of weddding dresses rather than the modern stapless look.

I adore floaty chiffon, lace and modesty. Most of all I love one-of-a-kind and unique. Personally I wouldn’t want to pay squillions of dollars for a dress on my special day knowing that somewhere someone else was wearing the same thing. And It would be lovely to be able to buy an Australian handmade or restyled vintage wedding dress rather than one mass produced elsewhere.

I don’t intend charging you a squillion dollars but I would like to recreate and come up with something special just for you the bride. A dress that is a little bit different, something gorgeous feminine and demure, capturing the essence of nostalgia in a dress that says romance and modesty in 2012 and beyond.

This is one of my favourite wedding pics ever. How could this not inspire you, the bride?

Well that is a dream and a passion on mine I wanted to share with you, to recreate and give new life to old and worn wedding dresses.

Secondly, I have decided to create a new style of dress and I have come up with the “Tea Cup Dress”, a cute little number made from a combination of mismatch vintage fabrics. Another fun dress for the girl that likes somthing a little different and seen here with a rockabilly petticoat underneath to give it that extra lift.

The bodice is fully lined with an option for the back of a round or V-neck zip closure and the design of the skirt gives it body to flounce with or without a petticoat.

So that is what I have been doing of late, creating lovely dresses as well as enjoying the slower pace of life and  living in the country.

Tiny the 28 year old cow who has been chomping away on our grass happily for the past fews years checked out peacfully a week ago and is now in her final resting place. RIP Tiny.

My motto is to slow down and enjoy life, because yes there is a destination but life and living are not a race. And a beautiuful face always has a smile.
