My new Mollie Frock and Win a Frock competition

by Sandra Forrest on August 28, 2011

What a rainy weekend we had here on the North West Coast of Tassie, it was real stay indoors keep warm and get some sewing done kind of weather.

I was going to drag out my hoards of super special fabric this weeeknd and make a couple of “Wow frocks” but then I got sidetracked as I ever so casually walked into my sewing room and stumbled upon a newly acquired unused retro pattern for a wrap around frock just sitting on my sewing table looking at me and then I just had to make myself one.

As if that wasn’t enough excitement for one morning; I then stumbled upon some very sweet yellow and orange vintage fabric that I had forgotten about and I just  had to make that up too into another frock. This turned out to be a very special new style frock with a removable Peter Pan collar and a new style ever so cute contrast fabric lined oblong tie pocket. I’ve called it my “Mollie” frock because it was inspired to me by the awesome new English magazine, Mollie Makes.

So not only did I make one frock but I ended up making two very nice frocks and here they are.

And then just as my weekend was nearly coming to a close I remembered something very special, I remembered I said I was going to give away a frock soon because it’s my birthday coming up and why should I be the only one to gets prezzies when really I think you should get all get one, well at least one of you very lucky readers should get a prezzie too. A nice one-of-a-kind custom made Grace of Autumn vintage inspired frock of your choice.

So this is what we are going to do I would like you to leave a lovely comment and please do one other thing for me and share my facebook page “Grace of Autumn” and this page with all your friends because not only do I want more likes but I want to make and sell more dresses too.

The competition is open for three weeks and the winner will be randomly drawn on Sept 21st so please start sharing and spread some handmade love.

Here is a few more of my lovely vintage inspired frocks just to whet your appetite. All frocks are available for purchase and I am happy to custom make.

Thank you kindly for stopping by and please remember to have a wonderful happy sunshiney week. XXX

As I look at your frocks, I imagine a woman standing in the linen department gazing at the sheets…then as she unwraps them at home, whooshing ( as my kids would say) in the air and straightening them on the bed. She takes a moment to admire the perfectly made up bed with just the tops of the sheets showing…so inviting…
And here are those sheets, decades later….recycled into a new awe inspiring creation…
I imagine the new owner of the sheet frock hanging it up in her closet( or amoir) and standing back to admire this “new” thing of beauty and wondering which hand bag & cardigan to wear with it…
The spirit of Loveliness embodied….

These are very adorable. I particularly love the sleeveless, ruffled front made with the palm tree VS. That’s my favorite. You do such wonderful work and must have much patience! I admire those of you who can make clothing. I would be afraid to even start something like that. My second fav is the gray flowers with the tiny scalloped neckline. Golly, these are sweet and so feminine. Nice Work!!

But I also might be checking my bank account and soon and seeing how much I can spend on clothes ;)

I was first drawn to your style as it reminded me of the dresses I wore when I was a child in the early 60′s….. so perhaps I’m vintage! I adore your ethos and love the name you have chosen in honour of your Grandmother. I first learnt to sew on my Grandma’s treadle Singer sewing machine. My job was to hem the edges of calico sheets! The material was so harsh and rough, nothing like the georgeous fabric finds you use. You are very generous with you gift and I hope that the very blessed winner will ‘pay it forward” and bless someone else. Your creations live up to your Grandmother’s name, they are simply gracious and characterized by elegance and good taste.
Kind regards Lyn

Hello Webmaster, I noticed that http://www.graceofautumn.com.au/my-new-mollie-frock-and-a-little-surpirse/28/ is ranking pretty low for some keywords, this may be due to the new Google Panda update, or it could be due to a variety of other factors. I’m sure you already know about On-page SEO, where Google cares highly about proper formatting of various H1/H2/H3 tags, having your main keyword appear in the beginning of your post and having your post end with the keyword, along with having keyword related alt tags and very relevant LSI. However, you do not seem to have the proper Keywords or relevant Keywords in your posts and in the website. Right now you need a tool or plugin that will allow you to check on Keyword insights, search trends and check for backlink analysis and to find out your Keyword competition. Hello Webmaster, I noticed that http://www.graceofautumn.com.au/my-new-mollie-frock-and-a-little-surpirse/28/ is ranking pretty low on Google and has a low Google PageRank. Now the Google PageRank is how Google is able to see how relevant your webpage is compared to all the other webpages online, if you cannot rank high at the top of Google, then you will NOT get the traffic you need. Now usually trying to get to the top of Google costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars and very highly optimized targeted marketing campaigns that takes a team of experts months to achieve. However, we can show you how to get to the top of Google with no out of pocket expenses (free traffic), no stupid ninja tricks, no silly mind control techniques, and this will be all white hat with no blackhat software or tactics that could possibly land you on bad terms with Google and put you in the dreaded “Google Sandbox”. We’ll show you how to easily capture all the targeted traffic you need, for free, multiple ways to land fast (not months) first-page rankings in Google and other major search engines (Bing, Yahoo, Ask, etc), even show you strategies on how to earn daily commissions just try Ranking Top of Google, please check out our 5 minute video.
